读完了「Horse」by Geraldine Brooks

这本书断断续续看了得有三四个月，一来是因为自己懒了，二来平常也得学习，kindle的读书乐趣也就耽搁下来了。过往时间倒是用来刷小红书，内心竟没有浪费时间的感觉，看来到了一定年纪，整啥不是整，让自己忙起来就成。

这本书起伏跌宕不多，用一匹叫Lexington的马做引子，串起了美独立战争时候一名奴隶和当今一名善良黑哥们的遭遇。先以马骨的研究，引出了故事男女主Theo和Jess，两人因对艺术的追求，走在了一起。男主不小心在街边捡回一张画，画里的马居然和Jess正在研究的骨头是同一匹。然后就牵出了独立战争时候这名叫Jarret奴隶的境遇。说实话，境遇不差，从马出生，到马临终，Jarret作为马痴，以奴隶身份居然也能全程陪下来，中间生生换了几名主人。很难得，最后一波碰上马匪，力挽狂澜似地帮主人拯救下所有的马匹，获得主人信任后，得以自由身退。而Theo因为对画的研究，牵出了画家和中间经手的故事，最后还能确认到街边这幅画的拍卖价值，难能可贵的是，愿意把画还给丢弃的原主人。很善良的黑哥们。结尾时候，和女主一起做了个晚饭，看天色还早，出去跑了个部，雨天就全身黑黑地跑，碰到另一名失足落下ridge的白人🏃‍♀️，也没多想就滑下去救援，然后👮‍♂️出现，带他领了便当。。。（看到这里，我得说一句，我就知道），因为故事写得太温馨了。

于是很讽刺的，旧社会的黑哥们在加拿大获得重生，新社会的黑哥们死于police brutality。
